You(th) for the future Hackathon
Hackathon Officially Over
The You(th) for the Future Hackathon’s goal is to assist migrants in securing a voice and an active role in policy development.
We need your help to involve youth migrants/refugees in active political life, and co-design policies addressed to migrants and refugees. Creating a system of EU and local consultative bodies involving migrants and refugees in designing policies!
This amazing hackathon comprehends the different frameworks of legislation of the different Member States involved in the project, based on a multi-stakeholder approach promoted by a partnership composed of NGO experts in training and education, Universities, Municipalities, and governmental Local Authorities.
We want to foster the active participation of migrants in consultative/decision-making processes that contribute to their empowerment/long-term integration into society for a mutual and better understanding and improvement of the policy framework in each country. Their involvement enhances the cultural background/skills of migrants and facilitates social inclusion in the EU context and in terms of active EU citizenship

π Prizes
The winning team will become the first EU Consultative Body allowing individual migrants or representatives of migrant associations to make their own decisions about how to change their life situation or participate in public life helps to break assumed patterns of dependency and paternalistic attitudes.
A Consultative Body at the EU level has the potential to stimulate political participation by immigrants and to improve integration policies by communicating the views of immigrant representatives to governmental and other stakeholders. Ideally its work is proactive and members are supported in producing high quality contributions.
Please make sure that you read the Terms and Conditions that apply to the hackathon, including applicable conditions to Prizes.

Challenges
Improve Young People's Establishment In Working And Social Life
Making the presence of foreign-origin communities with their cultural backgrounds and needs central to the public discourse.
Promote The Acquisition Of The Citizenship And Political Representation By Removing The Main Obstacles
It is necessary for the political forces to act in favor of a civilization law, abandoning the political ideologization that immobilizes a necessary reform, and leave room for a far-sighted vision of the future of Italy and Italians by ensuring the ownership of certain civil, political and social rights.
Favour The Active Participation Of Youth In Decision-making And Spread Of Opportunities For Youth Including Conveying An Authentic Representation Of Society
Make young people aware of existing services, facilities and activities for their age group. To plan new communication methods and strategies that can be useful for them to be informed and aware of their rights. Young people with a migration background creatively and radically are contesting the dominant narrative and demand visibility and space for their voices.
Young People's Leisure, Organizing And Well-Being
Young people’s assessment of their general health and self-rated mental ill-being has not changed to any significant extent since 2010. While most of them consider that their health status, in general, is good, almost one in three witnesses have some concerns with their mental well-being.
